About
Natalie Gentry is the Managing Director of Gen-PLAN.
She started her career in a London local authority planning team, progressing through to Deputy Team Leader, working alongside studying part-time to gain her 1st class Degree and Post Graduate Diploma (with Merit) in Town Planning from London South Bank University.
After 10 years she moved to City Hall to advise the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson followed by Sadiq Khan, on major and strategic planning applications in London. Whilst there she was involved in many high profile projects including the redevelopment of West Ham’s former ground at Upton Park, the third phase of London Bridge Quarter (Fielden House) and the Mayor’s largest regeneration site, Barking Riverside, amongst many others.
Having worked for 13 years within the public sector, and gaining invaluable knowledge and insight into the formation of policy, the inner workings of decision-making and political influence, Natalie decided to crossover to private sector consulting. She held the position of Associate Director for a central London practice advising clients on the planning prospects of land and managing the planning application process for all types of development proposals, including major residential and mixed use development.
After having her son in 2017 and requiring more flexibility and autonomy with her career, Natalie decided to quit the rat-race, joining a start-up development company on a part-time basis as Planning Director, and set up Gen-PLAN to provide consultancy services to other clients.

No job is too big or too small - from helping homeowners gain consent to extend or alter their homes, to advising developers on land acquisitions and achieving planning permission for major, complex and strategic development proposals. Every site and client is different so I pride myself on offering a bespoke service covering any aspect of town planning.
Using my extensive knowledge and experience of working within both the public and private sectors, I can provide innovative strategies to the most complex planning issues. For the more significant projects, I can act as project manager appointing and managing other technical consultants through both pre-application and application stages.
